Our approach

CB1 psychotherapy is a collection of individual therapists who give a space where time can be slowed down so that mental health can be seen in full and taken care of for the longer term. Whether it’s a long term addiction, depression, anxiety or another mental health or life issue. We will assess where you are and respond to that.

We are not passive in our approach to working with individuals and we are not sedimented in what we will try with different individuals. The key aim is to help a client move to a place which they see is more comfortable for them. Not only do we want to help you identify and manage the immediate difficulties but we also want to find the cause of them, help you process the underlying trauma or suffering and move away from the pain which is being caused.

The core of the treatment is existential psychotherapy, talking therapies, Eye Movement Desensitsation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR)

Lisa is the founder of CB1 and refers clients to psychotherapists. We also have some associate psychotherapists we can refer clients to (therapist in training) that offer lower fee rates so we will be able to find the right fit for you and connect you with someone, after an initial assessment.

Find out more about how we can help
  • Lisa Reynolds

I am the founder of CB1 psychotherapy. As well as my own clinical work I refer and collaborate with psychotherapists and associate therapists (therapists in training). So can find the right person for you.

My main areas of experience are in trauma, addiction, destructive relationships, anxiety, OCD, low self esteem and eating disorders. These are all behaviours that uncover deeper issues of what is going on. By looking at them together we can get you to a place where they don’t control your life.

  • Luke Reynolds

I’m an existential psychotherapist and I treat everyone I meet as an individual who has their own understanding of the situations they are in and the challenges they face. Rather than seeing you as broken or in some way needing to be fixed I see the challenges and issues you are facing as directly relating to the life and existence you find yourself in.

I’m a recovering addict and work a lot with addictions, complex trauma, relationships issues, destructive behaviour, dissociation and gender confusion and transition.

  • Dr. Elizabeth R. Moore, Ph.D Associate psychotherapist

Elizabeth is an academic and a 4th-year trainee in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Cambridge Society for Psychotherapy. Her therapeutic work is informed by her background in Existentialism and Cultural Studies as well as her current training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Elizabeth works with clients across a broad spectrum of areas, including relationship issues , cultural adaptation, creativity blocks, shame, guilt, low self-worth, social anxiety, and identity issues, among others.

  • Rob Metcalfe Associate Psychotherapist

I’m an existential–relational psychotherapist. I’m interested in who you are, the life you’ve lived, and how your history and relationships shape the issues and difficulties you’re facing now, including the places where you feel stuck or unable to move forward. I work in a way that’s open, honest, and human, helping you find a greater sense of aliveness and meaning in your life. I’m currently training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Cambridge Society for Psychotherapy, following earlier work at the Philadelphia Association and Regent’s University. I work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, relationship difficulties, and life transitions.

  • Emma Neville Associate Psychotherapist

    Emma Neville Associate Psychotherapist

I'm an existential therapist in my 3rd year of training at Regent’s University. I work with individuals across a range of situations and identities who are seeking deeper understanding of themselves, experiences and context. My core aim is to create a respectful, open environment where you can explore the complex questions of being human with compassion, curiosity, and honesty. Alongside my work as a therapist, I work in healthcare research and as a support worker for a LGBTQ+ individuals looking to address their relationship with drugs and alcohol.

  • Kate Low Psychotherapeutic counsellor

I will work with you collaboratively to help you explore your past and present with kindness and curiosity. By enquiring into the truth of your immediate experience, and by reflecting on relational patterns you have developed throughout your life, together we may consider your ways of being in relationship with yourself, others and the world around you. I am integratively trained and work across a broad range of issues. I have a special interest in neurodivergence.

  • Cara Lester Associate Psychotherapist

I offer an affirming, compassionate space to reflect on your experiences and explore what feels meaningful or true for you. Our conversations may open space to ease distress, reconnect with silenced parts of yourself or wonder about ways you could live more aligned to your own values. Sessions are relational, supportive, and gently challenging, always shaped around your unique journey. I am MA-level trained in existential therapy, working with a wide range of life challenges, while also specialising in love and identity, Gender, Sexuality, Relationship Diversity (GSRD including LGBTQIA+, Polyamory, Open and ENM) and body diversity. Together, we’ll explore your embodied experience, deconstruct old meanings, and co-create authentic ways of living that align with what matters to you.
